Adult Learning and Training Education

Adult learning and training education are a fantastic way to turn your life around and start afresh.

Times are hard. Unemployment is on the increase, more and more teenagers are leaving school with very little prospects of ever finding a job, they barely have life skills, never mind job skills, and many businesses are finding themselves with little option but to close leaving thousands of workers out of luck. What a state of affairs! But hey, guess what, the smart adults aren’t downhearted, they know that there are courses available for training or retraining in all different types of jobs, and that they can retrain, develop new job skills and start a whole new exciting career. The online education industry has really made this possible. Depending on your career path, earnmydegree can offer you a rise in salary and possibly a promotion without having to take time off to go to school. Many of these people would not have had the option for further education when they left school so they are grabbing the opportunity with both hands and giving it a big squeeze.

If the idea of returning to school makes your stomach churn and your face go a whiter shade of pale, you are not alone. The phrase ‘school days are the happiest of your life’ are always spoken by those who know that they will never have to go back and prove a thing, but vocational education is a little different, it’s more hands on, and can supply you with essential training and qualifications to get you started on a new career path. Whether you want to progress your present career or have a complete change of direction, go for it, it’s never too late to change.

Adult Learning and Training Education Courses

So what do you fancy? The choice is yours, go on, be a devil and try something new. There are so many to choose from you could end up like a kid in a candy store. Hold on, before you get too carried away, if the idea is to actually find paid employment after training, you have to be a little realistic. There are some industries which are more available than others to graduates of vocational education, how about the motor industry, (bodywork, paint spraying, automotive repairs), the electrical industry, the beauty industry, (beauty therapists, nail technicians, hair dressers), air conditioning and refrigeration, catering, truck and/or coach driving, there are just so many to choose from. It’s difficult to know what you want to be when you grow up, especially if you’re already in your forties! Some people never quite get there.

Finding Work after Vocational Education

Here’s another great part of many vocational education courses, you’ll very often be placed with a prospective employer to do part of your training, and fingers crossed, if you prove your worth and all goes well, you could walk out of training and straight into a new job, no guarantees but it can happen.

Choosing Vocational Education

There are loads of different schools and courses available these days, so make sure that you get in to the best possible school for your needs. Don’t be shy to ask questions about various aspects of the course:

  • Job placement rate. If plenty of their students finish the course and walk straight into a job, then that’s a good sign. It shows that the vocational courses are good and highly regarded by prospective employers
  • Are the facilities up to date. Let’s be honest, it’s no good learning about last year’s technology, you need to know what’s happening now, the real cutting edge stuff
  • Student services. You’re gonna need lots of support, especially when you first start your new vocational education training. Talk to other students, I bet they all have the same fears as you do.
